Liberalization in the European Energymarket seems to progress constantly. Since 2007 the electricity and gas market is open for all participants. Risk management tools were enhanced continuously too.
ENDEX, for example, offers futures on Zeebrugge- und TTF gas delivery and in the year 2007 EEX startet the spot and futures market concerning natural gas in Germany. 2008 EEX lowered the transaction charge and further corrections were done.
Meteodat offers tools in the field of production forecast and
demand forecast pretty much as risk management tools for hedging transactions. Meteorological and hydrological
forecasts outline the modelling of energy price indices as well as the indices of CO2 certificates.
