Climatology

The Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) monitors both short and long-term variabilities in global climate. Meteodat's contribution to these studies is the snow measurement program at the Wägital (Switzerland), a complete series of snow depth measurements and water equivalents since 1943.
Multi-decadal observations in the Alps reveal less and wetter snow, with increasing variability. doi:10.3389/feart.2023.1165861
